3. How to use the DttG Database and Tool
While Section 2 traced the technical development and design principles behind the DttG database, this section turns to its practical use. It introduces how researchers can navigate the database, make use of its search and filtering tools, and interpret the information it presents. The section also explains how contributors can submit new records and how the underlying codebase can be adapted for other research projects. In doing so, the section situates the DttG resource within the wider ecosystem of digital tools in art history and heritage science, where the emphasis lies on making research data accessible, interoperable, and open to future scholarship.
